Well, things are moving quickly here it seems. To me the days always go by really fast, and the kids are getting so much older by the day. Noah is really starting to get active, and beginning to really take on a personality of his own, while Ben is getting so much bigger and more alert. Ben went for his first needle today, which is always more traumatic for his parents then it actually is for him. But they are both still at such a precious age. What a blessing!
The summer here has been an interesting one. We have had a few members (Mark and Christina Husband, and 3 kids) that were offered jobs in different cities and so we have lost a family, but God has also brought us a new family that has just moved to town (Glen and Brenda Irving, and 3 kids). It is amazing how God works.
Our kids camps are in full swing and up to this point have been a huge success, I am able to help out where needed, and it is wonderful interacting with the kids as they learn and grow. By the end of the summer there will be probably more than 100 kids that have come to our building and have spent all day learning from our members, helping them, teaching them, interacting with them. I know that God can change these lives for Him. Please continue to pray for the workers as well as the kids.
Last week we started a series of lessons dealing with some of the major themes that run though out scripture. We started by looking at God's Faithfulness, how that affects us, how it should change us. How it should not only change the way that we think but the way that we act. God is faithful, and his faithfulness is unfaltering, unwavering, and unchanging. We as his children need to be faithful followers of the GOD that is faithful in all that he does. One of my favorite verses that talk’s about God's faithfulness comes from Psalms 89: 1-8 that says that God's faithfulness surrounds him. I just find this to be wonderful imagery, that as big and awesome and powerful as our God is he is surrounded by faithfulness. Our God never ceases to amaze.
We are busy this week with a meals-on-wheels program that has us delivering meals to those seniors that can't really handle the load on their own. This is fun to do as you can talk to the people that you deliver to, but it also keeps us quite busy. Today is also the food bank day so we will probably have around 40 -50 different families come to the building in need of assistance. It always seems like during the summer months the need stays the same but the donations of food goes down, so please continue to pray for this mission as well.
I continue to marvel at the work of our Lord. He truly is the KING of kings and Lord of lords, and he has blessed me greatly, thank you for being a part of that through your prayers and words, as well as through your financial support.
P.S. thank-you to all the kids that sent me letters of encouragement they meant a lot to Tami and me. They are very special letters and I have them up in my office where I can see them everyday, because they encourage me as well as let me know that people there are praying. So thank-you to every one that took the time to write.
