Well summer is still holding out here, and things have been extremly warm. Which is always a welcome blessing. Tami and I continue to marvel at all the things that kids do, and how much we as parents seem to love it. Ben has started to hold his head up all by himself, in short stretches and of course it is a little wobbly, but still it is progress. Noah at 2years old is a whirlwind of activity. He is always on the go. We are enjoying every minute of it. Noah, our son is really into Noah, the Bible character. Last week when he was visiting the farm where his grandparents live he went outside and was playing with some wood and when Tami asked him what he was doing he was quite put out because he was building Noah's Ark and yet there were no animals coming, and he was quite upset about the lack of animals. They do grow up fast, I know that as parents we say that alot but, it is true.
The Dauphin church of Christ, is preparing for next week (Sept15 - 17) when we will be having our annual Fall Retreat. The year always seem sto just zoom by and before we know it we are into fall again. This is however a wonderful weekend of growth and spiritual refinement. We alost always come away from this weekend physically exhausted, but spiritually refreshed. It is an amazing thing to spend an entire weekend together, bonding with each other as we also bond closer to our Heavenly Father. So please pray that every one will be abl to attend and that God will bless our time together.
We are also looking forward to this coming weekend (Sept9 - 11) when we are expecting a visit from Don Tobey and Bob Burckle. This is an exciting visit for all of us here, as it will be the first oppurunity for most of the people here to meet some of the people from down there in Grapevine. I know that Tami and I both loved our time there and always remember it as such an encouraging time and uplifting summer. So we are excited about others here in Dauphin getting to meet some of you from Grapevine.
We also have starting this month the Pioneer Clubs for kids. This year I have been asked to help teach the grades 7 -8 class. Last year I helped with the youngest age group, so this will be quite a shift. I know that having these clubs means a lot to the kids and that they get a lot out of it. For some it is a welcome escape from home life and an oppurtunity to hear about God that they might not get anywhere else. With our government taking as much christianity out of the schools as they can, and more and more parents not knowing God, todays kids face an uphill battle. So having our thursday night floor hockey and the Wednesday night Pioneer Clubs to get then to the building and to teach them about the God that created them and loves them, is so very important. The lessons that we learn as kids never leave us, so lets make those lessons Good News.
Please continue to pray for all that is going on here at the Dauphin church of Christ, and thank-you for all of the support that we receive. God is good.
In Him,
Randy
